Frequently asked questions

What kind of vehicle will we use?

A private 4×4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof for 360° viewing. It’s RF radio-equipped and carries a first-aid kit, cooler box, and charging points (where available).

Is this a private safari?

Yes. Your vehicle and guide are exclusively for your group, so the pace and stops are flexible.

What wildlife can I expect to see?

Lake Nakuru is excellent for both black and white rhinos, giraffe, zebra, and abundant birdlife (including flamingos when present). The Maasai Mara offers Big Five possibilities lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and (less commonly) rhino plus cheetah and many plains game.

When is the best time to travel?

Year-round. July–October is prime for the Great Migration in the Mara. March–May and November can be wetter but are quieter and good value.

Will I see flamingos at Nakuru?

Flamingo presence varies with water levels and algae; sometimes they gather in large numbers, other times they shift to nearby lakes. Your guide will brief you on current conditions.
